JUSTICE FOR ELIJAH MCCLAIN
Dear ______________________,
It’s been well over a year since the death of Elijah McClain, and though some of the officers have either been fired or resigned, zero arrests have been made.
The Aurora Police Department officers who are responsible for Elijah’s death---Nathan Woodyard, Jason Rosenblatt and Randy Roedema—reportedly used a “carotid pressure hold” to restrain him, a controversial method design to immobilize a suspect by blocking the neck artery and flow of blood to the brain.
When the paramedics arrived, they administered a dose of Ketamine to the already unconscious Elijah to "sedate" him. He was pronounced, at only 23 years old of a heart attack.
I ask you to take these steps towards justice for Elijah and his family:
1.) To hold accountable the Aurora officials, police officers, and paramedics responsible for McClain’s murder
2.) to force the City of Aurora to change it longstanding pattern of brutal and racist policing
Do not let this case fall into the pattern of no action after a terrible tragedy resulting in a death of a Black person. This is your chance to end that pattern. Take action in charging the officers, officials and paramedics involves.
BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Sincerely,
